Senate receives Buhari's letter
The leadership of the Senate claimed it has received President Muhammadu Buhari's notice of leave extension
Senate Spokesman Aliyu Sabi Abdullah confirmed that the Senate decided there is no need for legislators to reconvene to deliberate on Buhari's desire to extend his leave in London.
Abdullahi also added that the Senate received a second letter from the presdent on his desire to extend his leave in London.
According to him, the president’s action is in line with the provisions of the constitution, but said that no date of resumption was stated in the president’s second letter.
President Buhari wrote the National Assembly informing it of his desire to extend his leave in order to complete and receive the results of a series of tests recommended by his doctors.
The President, whose medical condition remained unknown, was expected to arrive the country on Monday 5 February and supposedly resume on Tuesday 6 February.
