The Spiritual Leader and Founder of One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji, has spoken on the 2027 general elections, emphasizing the imperatives of adhering to the zoning and power rotation agreement. The Spiritual Leader admonished that the any attempt to disrupt the zoning agreement to stop the South from completing 8 years, after the four years of incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, may precipitate "avoidable unrest" in the country.

Maharaj Ji, in a statement, cautioned that Northern candidate would “undermine the North-South political understanding”, from the existing power rotation agreement.

Maharaj Ji declared that “The South must be allowed to complete its eight-year duration in Aso Rock like the North did in respect of the immediate past Buhari administration.”

He expressed dismay over silence of northern elites on the desperation of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to contest the 2027 presidential election, warning that it is “dangerous” and could “heighten political tension across the country.”

Satguru Maharaj Ji warned Atiku and other northern aspirants to withdraw from the presidential race, urging northern leaders to speak up on the matter.

Maharaj Ji was of the view that certain northern elites are fueling Nigeria’s political and economic woes. He maintained that Atiku “had already benefited significantly from public service and should consider retiring from active politics;” including zoning, reiterating that disrupting the current equation could degenerate into “avoidable unrest” in the buildup to the 2027 general elections.
