Benue 2027: At Last Aondoakaa Emerges PDP Candidate
A former Attorney General of Federation and Minister of Justice, Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, at last, emerged the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Benue State for the 2027 general elections.
PDP State Publicity Secretary, Benue State, Bright Yima Antyo, in a statement indicated that Party leaders, stakeholders, local government party chairmen, ward chairmen, elected officials, supporters, and members of the State Executive Committee, affirmed Aondoakaa's candidature of the PDP at Nam Hotel, Off Kashim Ibrahim Road, Old GRA, Makurdi.
The PDP State Chairman, Rt. Hon. Ezekiel Adaji, commended party members for steadfastness, noting that the PDP continues to be strong, united and determined to wrest power from the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state in 2027.
The motion for the adoption of Michael Kaase Aondoakaa as PDP consensus candidate was moved by the Lawmaker, representing Agasha State Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, Williams Ortyom.
Another Lawmaker, Representing Ohimini State Constituency in the State Legislature, Ochekliye Agbo Isaac, Minority Leader of the House, seconded the motion.
Former Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, affirmed that PDP is fully prepared to return to power in 2027.
The Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, representing Benue South Senatorial District, expressed optimism that PDP will be victorious in the 2027 elections.
Michael Kaase Aondoakaa acquainted party members of focus on security, agriculture, youth empowerment, and the welfare of Benue people by his administration. He added he will uphold the rule of law, justice and accountability.
In a major highlight of the event, Chief Aondoakaa announced Hon. Dr. Oyije Ochawkiti Ogbenjuwa as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election.
