Reps to investigate rejection of Corpers

The House of Representatives is set to investigate the alleged rejection of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members by Organizations and Institutions with a view to proffering lasting solutions

The resolution emanated from a motion moved by Bolaji Yusuf Ayinla on the need to address the inability of Corp members to secure places of primary assignments.

Ayinla expressed concern that many Corps members have found it difficult to secure places of primary assignments.

He decried that the Corps members are often rejected on the grounds that the organization can not provide their remuneration or do not need their services.

The lawmaker regretted that the rejection often leave many of them frustrated as they spend several months looking for a place to serve.

Subsequently, the House mandated its committee on Youth Development to investigate the matter and report back within four weeks for further legislative action.
