Ondo Police Clamp Down on Violence Ahead 2015 Elections
Ahead of the February 2015 elections, Ondo state police command has begun clearing the streets of the state of hoodlums and potential election machineries that could foment troubles before, during and after the election.
In the last 7 days ,Ondo police has arrested over 40 various cult members who are warming up to work for politicians during the election.
It is a known fact that politicians engage the services of hoodlums and cultists to intimidate opponents and the electorates in the course of election processes. To ensure that there is no break down of law and order during and after the election in Ondo state, the state police command has promised to go all out and clear the streets of trouble makers.
The clamp down on hoodlums and cult members by the Ondo state police has yielded a commendable result by the arrest of a notorious cultist, Kola Adigun who according to police has been on wanted list for long.
Kola Adigun,who was paraded along with many other cult members and armed robbers acceded to being a member of eye confraternity. He said if the [police wanted peace during the coming election, there are other cult king pin who must be arrested along with him.
The commissioner of police, Isaac Eke reaffirmed the commitment of the police in Ondo state to work hard to ensure peace all over the state during the election.
