Mix-Up At Court 5, As Security Operatives Obstruct Sowore's Entrance Into Courtroom

There was mild mix-up at the Federal High Court, sitting in the FCT, Abuja, on Tuesday, morning as security operatives obstructed Omoyele Sowore from entering the courtroom.

Sowore arrived the court earlier than the time for sittings. Thus, he, then, resolved to observe proceedings at Court 5, while his trial will hold at Court 9, and his was resisted by the DSS from gaining access to the courtroom. This generated pandemonium in the court entrance door.

Swore insisted on gaining access into the court, accusing the security operatives of plotting to impede the court process.

There was tight security at the Federal Secretariat, Federal High Court environs in Abuja, in readiness for Sowore's appearance at the Federal High Court for continuation of his suit with the Department of Security Services, DSS.

Meanwhile, in anticipation of the Federal High Court ruling on the remand order on Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, in the 2027 general elections, security was tightened to contain his supporters, while Sowore was being moved from Kuje Correctional Centre to the court by combined team of DSS, Police and Prisons officials.

Officials of the Department of Security Service mounted road blocks from the Appeal Court down to the Federal High Court, while commuters had hectic moment getting to their destinations due to traffic gridlock.

Also, at the Federal High Court, all roads to the court were blocked and strategically manned by the DSS, while Lawyers, Journalists and other litigants were thoroughly screened into the court premises by security operatives.

Supporters of Omoyele Sowore gathered at the arena before his arrival, holding peaceful protest at the entrance of the Federal High Court, chanting solidarity songs.
