Jonathan Urges Bayelsans to Shun Political Differences
Former President of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Jonathan has advised Bayelsans to put aside their political differences and unite for the common good of the state.
Jonathan who stated this at the 9th state thanksgiving anniversary at the ecumenical centre in Yenagoa, also clamoured for the interest of the state to be placed above personal or party interest.
He said the essence of politics is for the common good of the people and called on the different political parties to join hands with the Governor in order for Bayelsa state to achieve its needed development.
On his part, the Governor of Bayelsa state Douye Diri calls on Bayelsans not to lose hope as tough times never last, while the guest speaker and General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian church pastor Enoch Adeboye prayed for open doors for the state.
The event was graced by the National Chairman of the People's Democratic Party, Mr Uche Secondus, the former Governor of Bayelsa State Seriake Dickson, National and State Assembly Members among others.
