Jonathan to appear before Reps
The House Committee Investigating the alleged corruption and the breach of due process in the award of oil prospecting license (OPL) 245 looks, is set to invite former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan to appear before it and give evidence on the extent of his alleged involvement in what is known as the Malabu scandal.
According to a statement by the Chairman of the ad-hoc Committee on the investigation of OPL 245, Hon. Razaq Atunwa, said the ex-President Jonathan may well be in a position to assist it with its inquiries, and as such an announcement will be made once a decision is taken on the matter.
In a chat with Galaxy News, Hon. Atunwa expressed pleasure with the extent of commitment shown by the EFCC and other international anti-graft agencies in their quest to uncover the sharp practices and those involved in the oil deal.
The House of Representatives, by a Resolution taken at Plenary set up and mandated the Committee to conduct a thorough examination of the process and circumstances surrounding OPL 245 and identify culpability of any persons, groups or organizations.
