Jonathan Picks Nomination Form For Presidential Race
President Goodluck Jonathan has picked expression of interest form from the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) signalling his readiness to run for president in the 2015 general elections.
Jonathan who collected the nomination form today at the PDP headquarters, Wadata House in Abuja, assured Nigerians of his commitment to deliver on his electoral promises if re-elected.
Our correspondent, Desmond Kolawole reports that Jonathan was accompanied by some governors, ministers and top party officials.
Following months of speculations, uncertainty and horse trading from PDP and opposition parties on whether president Jonathan will run for 2015 general elections, the collection of nomination form today has put to rest all the speculations.
Speaking, the National Chairman of the party, Adamu Muazu said the party decided to give the president a right of first refusal because of his outstanding performance in the last four years.
President Jonathan however, thanked the National Working Committee of the party for adopting him as consensus presidential candidate while also expressing appreciation to Nigerians who donated for him to pick the nomination form.
He further assured that he will work with all Nigerians if re-elected to move the nation to a greater height.
Some of the party's big wigs who accompanied the president to pick the nomination form described him as an embodiment of humility and deserve to be re-elected as president.
Other party faithfulls who were at the Wadata House with mr president include the former minister of police affairs, Caleb Olukolade, as well oil business magnate, Ifeanyi Uba.
