I will speed up corruption cases - New CJN

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mohammed Tanko says his administration will speed up corruption cases as a way to support government anti-corruption war.

Justice gave the assurance immediately after he was sworn in by President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa Abuja, Wednesday.

He said the courts will hasten corruption-related cases so as to ensure that those found guilty will go jail.

Tanko assured that the move to sanitize the judiciary will begin from the lower courts.

The new CJN dismissed allegations of corruption within the judiciary urging the media and anyone aware of corrupt practice in the court to write him personally for appropriate action to be taken.
