The planned merger between the Action Congress of Nigeria and the Congress for Progressive Change has been described as an arrangement at producing credible leaders for the country in 2015 general election.

Former Governor of Lagos State and the Chieftain of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Senator Bola Tinubu while speaking with Journalists at the Oke Igbehin Government House in Abeokuta said those that are leading the country presently lack the courage and capability to take Nigeria to the promise 

Tinubu maintained that the merger talk between the Action Congress and the Congress for Progressive change was in the best interest of democracy and Nigeria as a whole adding that it was an attempt at giving the younger generation the opportunity to equally contribute their quota to the development of the country.

The former Governor of Lagos State stated that it is high time Nigerians take their destiny in their hands and demand for quality leadership in the country noting that Nigerians should learn from the just concluded election in Ghana where the wish of the people was allowed to materialised.

He blamed the irregularities in the country electoral system of the inconsistency being perpetrated by the Independent National Electoral Commission noting that unless the electoral body get it right, there would be no guarantee of credible election in the country.
