Police Arrest Kidnapper, Recover Bodies of Victims In Edo
The police arrested a kidnapper, and further recovered the bodies of victims killed in captivity, after paying ransom.
The bodies of two victims, which include a 66-year-old woman, kidnapped alongside her daughter, and a 15-year-old boy, who were killed by their abductors despite payment of ransom, have been recovered in a remote forest in Ovia North East Local Government Area, Edo State.
The recovery of the bodies of the victims, two weeks after the payment of ransom and release of the daughter of the 66-year-old woman, is coming after the arrest of an herder who led the police to the forest at Isiukwu community in Ovia North East local government area of Edo State.
The Police Public Relations Officer of Edo State ASP Eno Ikoedem while speaking with newsmen, narrated how the 24-year-old Haruna was arrested.
The daughter of the deceased, who was abducted alongside her mother but was later released after the payment of N11 million ransom, narrated how the victims were killed, as the suspects confessed to being introduced by his employer.
The other suspects who are said to be of the Northern extraction and some collaborators from Edo, are presently on the run as the police promised to bring them to justice.
