Police IG Blames EndSARS Protest On Fake News
The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu on Thursday in Ibadan the Oyo state capital gave insight into the protest that trailed the Endears protest in Nigeria.
He blamed the violence that trailed the Endears protest in Nigeria on fake News.
Addressing officers and men of the Oyo State Police Command in Ibadan, Adamu who commanded officers and men for the comportment during and after the violence tasked them to continue to discharge their civic duties without fear of intimidation and molestation.
Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that the Inspector General of Police who was flanked by senior officers in the Nigeria Police force stated that the fake news started from Delta state before it spread to other parts of the country adding that no SARS operative was involved in the incident as circulated on the social media.
Adamu maintained that criminals will always be criminals while the law will always take its course.
He charged the officers to return to their respective duty posts adding that those who lost their lives during the protest would be compensated according.
Earlier, the Commissioner of Police in the state Chucks Enwonwu commended the IGP for the visit adding that this will encourage his men and boost their morale.
The Inspector-General of Police has since moved to Ogun State for a similar visit.
