Police Arrest Notorious Cult Leaders In Delta

The Police have arrested a 30-year-old notorious cult leader, Joshua Okpogona, identified as the current leader of the Supreme Vikings Confraternity in Ughelli, Delta State, responsible for a Cult related killing on January 15th 2026.

Operatives of the Delta State Police Commissioner Special Assignment Team, led by ASP Julius Robinson, arrested Joshua Okpogona, working on valid intelligence.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Delta State Command, Edafe Bright, in a statement, indicated that the operatives stormed an hotel where the principal suspect was hiding in Ekiugbo Town before taking him into custody.

The immediate past leader of the group, popularly known as Black Python, was also arrested during the raid, while two locally made cut-to-size guns and 10 live cartridges were recovered .


The Delta State Police Commissioner, CP Aina Adesola, reassured residents of the Command's unwavering determination to sustain the ongoing crackdown on cultism, violent crimes and other criminal activities in the state.
