The police apprehended and paraded 19 suspects, comprising 3 traditional chiefs and 16 indigenes, in Ilobu community, Osun State, for unleashing inhumane treatment on police officers deployed to maintain law and order in the community.

The officers were deployed to restore peace, following a prolonged land dispute between three neighbouring communities.

Parading the suspects at the Headquarters of the Osun State Police Command, Osogbo, the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotam, said the Command acted on credible intelligence to track down and arrest those involved in the attack.

The Police Commissioner assured that all the suspects would be prosecuted in accordance with the law, stressing that attacks on security personnel would not be tolerated.
