Palliative: Customs Releases 6,154 Bags of Rice

The Nigeria Customs Service Oyo and Osun Command has released 6,154 Bags of rice to Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti as part of palliatives promised by the Federal Government.

The Area Comptroller, Hellen Ngozi who released the palliative to representatives of the four state disclosed that the service remains committed to the welfare of Nigerians.

The Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Col. Hameed Ali (Rtd), has approved the release of 450 trailers of rice for distribution to cushion the effect of the ongoing lockdown across the country.

In fulfilment of the promise, the Oyo and Osun Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has released a total of 6,154 bags of parboiled rice to the government of Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti for onward distribution to the less privilege in their respective states.

Addressing the representatives of the four beneficiary states, the Area Comptroller, Oyo and Osun Command of the Nigeria Customs, Hellen Ngozi stated that the event is part of the commitment of customs to the welfare of all Nigerians, especially the less privilege.

While calling for the equitable distribution of the palliative to the beneficiaries, Ngozi restates the commitment of the Agency to the socio-economic development of the country while representatives of the beneficiary states thanked the Nigeria customs service for the gesture.

The distribution of the palliative from the Nigerian Customs Service is being coordinated by Oyo state operations Coordinating Unit.
