The Ondo state government has concluded plans to setup rice and cassava mills to assist farmers that specialize in cassava and rice plantation.

 This was revealed to journalists by the permanent secretary, Ondo state ministry of agriculture, Engineer Alex Aragbaye while fielding questions from journalists during presentation of cheques to farmers through Fadama initiatives in Akure, the Ondo state capital.

To create soft landing for about five thousands farmers that are being engaged to cultivate five thousands hectares of land across the three senatorial districts, cassava and rice mills will be established to process and package farm products for commercial sales.

In the same vein, the state government is investing on this in collaboration with the world bank to create employment and make food available for the people of the state and Nigeria at large.
