Olubadan Sues for Peace
Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji has sued for peace among all ethnic groups living in Ibadan for peace and unity in the land and the country at large.
The monarch who made the appeal in Ibadan at the sideline of an empowerment programme for widows in Ibadan equally charged government at all levels to focus on the welfare of the elderly in the society.
Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that Olubadan who spoke through his media aide, Adeola Oloko emphasized the need for government and other well-meaning Nigerians to rise up to the task of nation-building.
On the need to take care of the elderly in the society, Olubadan decried the lingering state of insecurity in the country calling on other well-meaning Nigerians to support the government in this regard.
On their part, organisers of the event stressed the need for government to come up with more welfare programme for the widows and other less privileged in the society.
The highpoint of the event was the presentation of award of recognition to Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji and gifts to widows.
