No arrest after 1st day of lockdown in Kano - Police

Kano police command says no arrest has been made in the state since the Kano total lockdown was initiated in the state on Thursday night.

The command Public Relations Officer,  DSP Abdullahi Haruna in an exclusive chat with Galaxy TV at the state command headquarters, Bombai, said Kano people have proven to be law-abiding once again by obeying the lockdown rules and staying indoors which is why no arrest has been made against anyone flouting the rules.

The police spokesman said policemen have been strategically deployed in all the forty local government areas of the state to monitor and enforce the lockdown.

Kano state has recorded one death and twenty-one positive cases of the novel coronavirus virus which led the state governor Abdullahi Ganduje to enforce a total lockdown in the state for seven days which is to run from Thursday night April sixteen to Wednesday, April twenty third, 2020.
