NIMC: Scores of Applicants Stranded in Ibadan
As staff of the National Identity Management Commission suspend their warning strike, scores of applicants for the National identity number were stranded on Monday.
Correspondent Kunle Ojo who was at the New Garage Head office of the commission in Ibadan reports that scores of the applicants were prevented from entering the premises.
The development according to sources is part of the measures to ensure sanity within the premises of the commission.
The applicants who were seen hauling abusive words on the staff of the commission decried the measures put in place by the government for the National exercise.
Some of them disclosed that they have been at the centre very early in the morning but were denied entrance into the premises.
Responding to the claims by the applicants, the Coordinator, National Identity Management Commission, Ibadan office, Olusola Shotayo said some other applicants had already been scheduled to visit the office on an agreed date.
He stated that those outside the gate are not meant to visit today adding that those that have been scheduled for today are being attended to by his staff.
On entering the premises, those that were scheduled for today were being attended to by officers of the commission with few applicants on their seats outside the office.
