Iweala Promises to Strengthen Trade in Nigeria, Africa
Meanwhile, the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala says, WTO has mapped out plans to support and strengthen countries of the continent to increase the ability to trade with one another.
Okonjo Iweala disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Trade and Investment in Abuja, Monday.
She encouraged Nigeria and African youths to venture into technology and e-commerce which provides good platforms to invest as the World Trade Organization is willing to train the youths on how to be resourceful for their countries.
Minister of State Industry, Trade and Investment, Mariam Katagum urged Dr. IWEALA to use her good office to help member countries to resolve their differences, restore trust confidence and build consensus.
She said Dr Okonjo Iweala as the DG of the World Trade Organization should also help to strengthen multilateral trading system and make it more relevant to the 21st century and remember women through different empowerment programmes.
