INEC Releases Details Of Locations For CVR Exercise Slated For August 2025

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released full details of the locations for the upcoming Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, which is set to resume nationwide this month.
The move marks another major step in the Commission’s preparations toward deepening citizens’ participation in the electoral process ahead of future elections.
In a press statement released by Sam Olumekun, National Commissioner and Chairman, Information & Voter Education Committee, the Commission said the CVR will begin with the online pre-registration on Monday, August 18, 2025, followed by in-person registration from Monday, August 25, 2025.
Both processes will run simultaneously for one year, ending August 30, 2026.
The registration exercise will take place across 811 centres, comprising 774 Local Government Areas and 37 State and FCT offices, operating from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday, excluding national public holidays.
To aid prospective registrants, INEC announced the deployment of a CVR Live Locator —a digital tool that will enable Nigerians to easily locate their nearest registration centre.
The locator according to Mr. Olumekun, will be available on the Commission’s website from August 17, 2025, via [https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/locator](https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/locator).
Additionally, a 38-page document listing all the 811 physical CVR centre addresses has been uploaded to INEC’s official website and social media platforms. The Commission has also provided dedicated Help Desk phone lines for each state to address inquiries and assist citizens during the exercise.
INEC confirmed that the procedures for both the online and physical registration remain unchanged from those used during the last nationwide exercise in 2022. It also promised to release comprehensive guidelines and explanatory video clips in the coming week to further educate the public.
