INEC Extends Continuous Voters Registration To Grassroots In Ekiti

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has extended Continuous Voters Registration, CVR, to the grassroots population in Ekiti State to ensure every qualified resident have access to register.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, RERC, Dr. Bunmi Omosehindemi, in Ado Ekiti, encouraged all resident, 18 years and above, to register in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise, running from Monday, February 16 to February 25.

The REC said that decentralization to wards across the state will ensure that no eligible voter misses out ahead of future elections.

The REC stated that the online pre-registration portal has been closed. He told those who started the process online to complete their physical registration at designated centres within the stipulated period

The Resident Electoral Commissioner said the 10 day drive will be followed by claims, objections, and register cleanup.
He said that Online pre-registrants must complete physical registration at the centers.

Dr. Omosehindemi called on community leaders, politicians, civil society, and media to partner for a smooth process.
