Hope Uzodimma, the Imo state governor has commended the State House of Assembly on their proposed Social Media Regulation Bill.

The Governor made this commendation when the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Chiji Collins, PhD, visited the Government House in Owerri.

The Governor thanked the Speaker and his colleagues for their foresight in proposing this vitally important bill, noting that fake news has become a scourge and a huge threat to our hard-earned democracy; hence all efforts to curb the menace must be commended.

He commended the speaker and his team for making such a bold and wise decision. He promised that their interests will be put into consideration in the affairs of the State.
