IGP Calls For Stronger Partnership With Police Trust Fund
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has called for a stronger and more coordinated partnership with the Nigeria Police Trust Fund to support ongoing reforms in the Nigeria Police Force, with emphasis on improving personnel welfare and operational efficiency.
The IGP made the call while receiving the Executive Secretary of the NPTF, Mohammed Sheidu, and members of the Fund’s Board on a courtesy visit at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the Police and the Fund, particularly, in the areas of welfare, training, and infrastructure development.
The NPTF boss said the Fund will continue to support the Police through various interventions, including training programmes and ongoing projects aimed at improving capacity and working conditions.
The Inspector-General also highlighted the need to prioritise junior officers in welfare programmes, noting that they carry a significant share of operational responsibilities, and reaffirmed his commitment to reforms that will make the Force more effective and responsive to the public.
