FUTA gets new vice chancellor
Professor Joseph Fuwape has emerged as the seventh Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA).
Both the academic and non academic staff of FUTA converged at the university main auditorium to witness the swearing in of the new vice chancellor putting aside the rancour that have pitched staff against the management of the institution.
The pro chancellor of the institution, Senator Joseph Waku implored the staff and management of FUTA to work together in line with the laid down procedures and eschew all forms of confrontations.
In his inaugural speech, Joseph Fuwape charged both staff and students of the institution to brace up and join him to reorganize the university for better performance.
Also the former vice chancellor, Biyi Daramola in his farewell speech spoke about the crisis that rocked his administration and declared that as he take a bow, he holds no grudge with anyone. The leaders of Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and non academic Staff Union, NASU, Comrade Dele Durojaye and Adebayo Aladerotoun, while speaking with journalists agreed that the incoming of the new vc, will bring about peace on the campus.
