FG to completes installation of CCTV of 3rd Mainland Bridge in few weeks- Minister .

The Federal Government has promised to install CCTV and further beefed up security along the third mainland Bridge in Lagos in order to avoid further vandalization of the recently installed facilities in the highway.

The Minister of Works, David Umai, while addressing Contractors handling various federal government projects across the country decried the act of vandalism carried out by some unscrupulous elements on the third mainland Bridge.

GALAXY TV reports that the Minister said the incident has been reported to the security agencies to query the security company in charge of the project noting that, the ugly occurrence was a high level of wickedness.
He assured that the installation of CCTV and security features along the rehabilitated highway would be completed in the next few weeks.

On the ongoing Lagos/Calabar highway project, the Minister denounced the report that the project has been stopped noting that, the Federal Government mean business on the project.

Umai revealed that about four Kilometers of the road has been completed as well as the realignment of some aspects of the project saying, the work is going on smoothly just as he disclosed that the government has paid compensation to the tune of #10 billion .
He therefore, enjoined contractors to handle all the ongoing projects with all seriousness noting that, the federal government would not tolerate any form of excuses for delay.
