The ongoing National Identification Number (NIN) and Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) integration exercise has been extended by eight weeks, with a new deadline of April 6, 2021.

Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami gave the extension after a meeting of the Ministerial Taskforce on NIN-SIM registration which held on the left of February 2021.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the minister said the extension was to allow citizens more time to integrate their NIN with their Sims.

The release which was jointly signed by Dr Ikechukwu Adinde, Director Public Affairs, Nigerian Communications Commission and Mr Kayode Adegoke, Head, Corporate Communications, NIMC, the minister urged Nigerians to utilize the time given and ensure that their identification numbers are marched with their SIM cards before the deadline.
