FG battles With Solutions To Insecurity Displacements
The Federal government is seemingly battling with solutions to displacement of human population by the merchants of violence across the country.
The Minister of humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management. Bernard Doro, at the launch of Benue State Contingency Plan for Emergency Response 2026 to 2028, at Government House, Makurdi, reassured the Benue people and Nigerians, that the government remained committed to providing policy leadership, strengthening inter-agency coordination, and advocating sustained investment in the displacement of affected states, reflecting that Benue represents both scale of humanitarian needs face as a people.
The minister promised to work closely with state government, development and humanitarian partners to ensure assistance is timely targeted and also to persons centered.
Leader of the European Union delegation, Gautier Mignot, laid emphasis on durable solutions for the IDPs, highlighted some of the interventions the Union has provided like water, shelters and multiple cash transfers. He said the EU is also working with French Development agency to provide Technical vocational training in the agricultural sector for farmers.
Launching the two year Benue State Contingency Plan for Emergency Response and the newly established data rooms and Bureau of Statistics donated by IOM. The Governor, represented by Deputy Governor Sam Ode, expressed optimism that with sustained collaboration with all the partners, the challenges faced by Benue people will come to an end.
