Enugu CP Commiserates With Families of 11 Dead Persons In Tree accident
The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Police Command, CP Mamman Giwa, has commiserated with the families of 11 persons killed by a fallen tree.
The CP Giwa, in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Daniel Ndukwe, observed that the tragic incident which occurred on Tuesday at Udi Local Government Area, when a large tree fell on two vehicles, left the Command devastated.
The Commissioner disclosed that four persons, trapped under one of the vehicles were rescued and rushed to the hospital.
Preliminary investigation showed that the vehicles were conveying passengers from the Enugu old park, and traveling to divers villages, but stopped to drop some passengers before the incident happened.
The CP, while commiserating with the families, advised community leaders and residents across the state to regularly inspect and maintain large or aging trees around markets , motor parks , schools and residential areas, particularly, during the rainy season.
