Former Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, on Thursday, escaped arrest by security operatives at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.

El-Rufai, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, was accosted at the departure wing of the Airport by security operatives.

Loyalists of the former Governor surrounded him and resisted the security operatives from having access to him.
El-Rufai was, metaphorically, enveloped in the midst of his supporters who accompanied him the airport, to the departure point.

The reason for the failed arrest could not be ascertain at the time of this report.
