Dickson urges Bayelsans to disregard rumour against military

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa state has urged the people of Bayelsa to see the Nigerian Army as their friend rather than enemies, as a result of the ongoing allegation of Monkey Pox vaccination by the military.

He made the remarks at the government house in Yenagoa while receiving military commanders and the Chief of Army Logistics, who paid him a visit on the planned military medical outreach slated for next week in the state.

Speaking at the briefing, governor Dickson call on Bayelsans to disregard the rumor making the rounds to discredit the military.

Fielding questions from newsmen, the Chief of Army Logistic Major Gen. Rogers Nicholas blamed the allegation on those he referred to as miscreants who are not happy with the military good works in the region.

It will be recalled that the Bayelsa state government had put medical outreaches on hold in the state, as a result of the panic caused by parents who rushed to various schools to take their wards when the Monkey pox vaccination rumor hit the state.
