Defence minister speaks on Shekau's whereabout

 The federal government has promised do everything possible to capture the leader of the Boko Haram insurgents, Abubakar Shekau alive.


Minister of defence, Mansur Dan-Ali reiterated this while briefing journalists at end of a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa abuja on  Tuesday.

The minister said the meeting was part of briefing by the defence ministry on the security situation in the country.

He said the military is re-strategizing to capture Shekau to permanently rest speculation about the extermination of the Boko Haram leader.

He lamented that the terrorist leader has now resorted to wearing masks making it difficult to ascertain his real identity but assured nigerians that the military will surely get him this time.

Dan-ali who said president Buhari enjoined the military to do more in terms of security, maintained that efforts in top gear to ensure the safe return of internally displaced person to their localities.

The deliberation  is in continuation of President Buhari's closed door meeting with the nation's service chiefs.
