Driver of a commercial bus, popularly known as Faka, with registration number - SMK 823 YK, killed two passengers and injured 8 others in a ghastly accident at Ballet, inward Mile 2, Okota, Isolo, Lagos.

Preliminary findings revealed that the accident was caused by a private car driver reversing on the main carriageway. The commercial bus driver travelling at high speed applied brake suddenly.

The bus lost stability, overturn repeatedly and ultimately burst into flames, while the 9 passengers, including the driver, were intact.

Further investigations revealed that the commercial bus driver was reportedly carrying a five-litre gallon of petrol in the vehicle. The highly inflammable substance sparked fire outbreak immediately the crash occurred, resulting in a severe inferno.

The driver and a female passenger seated at the front, were burnt beyond recognition.
