There are indications that President Muhammadu Buhari may have decided to restructure the country's security apparatus, going by unending security challenges bedevilling the country.

National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno gave the clue while addressing journalists after a security council meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Tuesday.

Monguno said the President reminded the service chiefs of his previous marching orders given to them, even as insecurity continues to escalate daily.  

He said the president reaffirmed his stance that the security units were doing well in their duties though their bests were not enough.

According to him, the president was more concerned about the promise to secure Nigeria and Nigerians hence the need for immediate re-engineering of the entire security apparatus.

NSA Monguno also responded to questions on the serial killings in Southern Kaduna saying the governor of Kaduna State and the Minister of defence is interfacing with the president to ensure that the political crisis in the area is resolved.

On the Boko Haram attack on Governor Zulum of Borno State, Monguno said his office will hold a meeting with Governors Forum in other to ascertain what exactly transpired.

The NSA also x-rayed the menace of hard drug substances in the country and the impact it was having on the Nigerian society.

According to him, Nigeria has graduated from a transit to a production hub for drug substances.
