The budget defense session by the Joint Senate and House Committees on Communication and ICT was shifted till next Tuesday, thus increasing the likelihood about the budget defense deadline of the first week of November being shifted.

Galaxy’s Godfrey Eshiemoghie reports that the Minister for Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, could not attend the session as he was at a security meeting with the President, prompting the postponement.

Going by the budget defense timeline, the Joint Appropriation Committees in both Chambers have between November 19 and December 2^nd to collate their reports ahead of 3^rd December which is the date for laying the document.

It will be recalled that the Senate had suspended the plenary on 20^th October to allow for work on the 2021 budget of N13.08 trillion.
