BENUE POLICE ARRESTS 181 SUSPECTS, BANDITS OVER 70.
Benue State Police Authority says over seventy(70) suspects linked to banditry in Katsina - Ala, UKUM and Logo local government areas of the state have been arrested in various operations which has disrupted criminal network, camps and facilitated the return of local to their farms.
The State Police Commissioner, Ifeanyi Emaneri, disclose that a total number of one hundred and eighty one (181) suspects were arrested across the state, mostly involved in banditry, armed robbery, culpable homicide, kidnappings and other serious offences with arms and ammunition recovered from them.
The Commissioner of Police, addressing journalists at the Police Officers Mess in Makurdi, with other senior police officers on the successes so far recorded by the command in collaboration with the military and other security agencies. Assures that the command would continue to maintain, proactive and intelligence - driven policing against crime and criminality to ensure citizens sleeps with their two eyes close, thanking the governor for his moral support and members of the public for their useful and timely information in nipping crime in the bud.
While promising the people of BENUE State of sustaining the relative peace across the state, the Commissioner of Police decorated some police officers newly promoted for their dedication and commitment to service and thanked the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun for his exceptional leadership and support to the command in fighting crime.
The commissioner of Police, Ifeanyi Emenari, within passed weeks also visited and condoled with families of diseased officers killed in recent operation by bandits, one of them ASP Usman Danlami, a sector commander of operation Zenda in Katsina.Ala LGC.
