Benue Police Arrest Suspected Gun Manufacturer With Six Pistols

Benue Police command has arrested and paraded fifteen suspected gun manufacturers and recovered six locally fabricated baretta pistols.

Among the suspects arrested by operation Zenda, a joint police taskforce are underage children undergoing training on how to fabricate different kinds of guns.

They were arrested along Adikpo - Vandeikya road, following information of the arms deals by the operatives deployed to the area to clamp down on the syndicate.

On fifteen of November at about forty thirty PM, the team busted their hideout and arrested one Fater Terkula Sunday and Jem Demesugh, the recovered six (6) locally fabricated barretta pistols and a motorcycle.

Further investigation led to the arrest of Ternenge kpamngu, Terkula Ihyungwa also known as Japan, Aondo kusugh, chukwudi udeh and nine others.

Additional exhibits recovered from them include; one locally made barretta pistol, two gas cylinders, one welding cylinder, two welding nozzles and a Sienna bus.

Meanwhile the suspects confessed that they have been in the business of producing and selling arms as well as training teenagers on arms Manufacturing.

The underage teenagers are between the of 13 and 15 years arrested at the training ground.

The police public relations officer, SP Catherine Anene, says the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution after investigation.
