The Coalition of Arewa ADC Youth Groups, Friday, scolded the Department of Security Services, DSS, over attempted arrest of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, on Thursday.

Ibrahim Modibbo, in a media interaction in Abuja, on behalf of the Coalition of Arewa Consultative Coalition ADC Youth, protested that the move by the DSS is a violation of sovereignty and law, noting that Malam Nasir El-Rufai was just returning from Cairo, Egypt.

The Coalition protested that these are first signs of a dark cloud gathering over the 2027 General Elections. he said that the ruling APC has shown its hand early by attempting to silence, intimidate, and criminalize opposition leaders, like El-Rufai.

The Group declared that it will continue to resist every attempt to turn Nigeria into a one-party state; warning, the government believe to use the security apparatus, which has failed to stop bandits in the North West, to instead chase political rivals in Abuja, this will be resisted.
