Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has visited the people of terrorized Nyihemba-Anwase-Abande communities, in Kwande Local Government Area, recently invaded by armed herdsmen.

The governor assured them of adequate security, promising to construct the roads to ease movement, enhance security patrol and rapid response.

The community of Nyihemba-Anwase-Abande have been under series of attacks, the most recent by armed herdsmen and bandits, led to the death of many, and displacement several residents from their homes.

Governor Alia condemned the unprovoked attacks while meeting with the people and traditional rulers at Turan in Kwande Local Government Area. He promised to construct roads and contact network providers to boost and facilitate quick communication during emergencies. He assured that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is already aware of their SITUATION and has directed reinforcement.

The State deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations, who observe residents account of the attacks in their community, said the police, in collaboration with the military, will ensure appropriate actions are taken to forestall bandits attack on the community.
