Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi says his administration has impacted positively on the welfare of women through various programmes and policies.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Oyo state official's wives  association building in Ibadan, Ajimobi added that given the strategic importance of women in nation building, the administration had supported and promoted women-related issues and had ensured gender balancing in all activities.

The Governor revealed that the project will fast track empowerment for women in the state, which will in turn help develop various households and the nation as a whole.

Speaking on behalf of all the Oyo state Official's wives, the wife of the governor, Florence Ajimobi commended the state government for putting the issue of women in the front burner through poverty alleviation schemes, appointments, and domestication of laws that prescribes punishments for violence against women and child abuse.
