The Oyo State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Friday arraigned a 61-year-old man, Alfa Olayiwola Rasaki for the alleged rape of a minor.

The suspect, Alfa Olayiwola Rasak, 61, of Oke Oluokun Kudeti Road, Ibadan was arrested for having carnal knowledge of a 15-year-old minor and constant abuse of the victim for over 4 years. He was said to have deflowered the girl when she was 11years.

The suspect was charged for Rape contrary to Section 34(1) and punishable under section 34(2) of the Child Rights Law of Oyo state by the Anti-Human trafficking and child protection unit of the command.

Chief Magistrate Adebisi of family court 1 Iyaganku, Ibadan after hearing the count charges against the suspect remanded the suspect at Abolongo correctional center till November 8, 2021.

The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp, Michael Adaralewa revealed that the suspects was arraigned after medical examination and thorough investigation while he voluntary confessed that he once had sexual intercourse with the victim.

Commandant Adaralewa warned anyone indulging in such acts to desist as NSCDC would not hesitate to bring offenders to justice as usual.

He advised the general public to expose evil doers and criminal elements in their community or neighbourhood  to ensure criminals face the wrath of law.
