UN Worker Dies After Contracting Ebola Virus
A United Nations worker infected with Ebola has died at a hospital in Germany.
The 56 year old Sudanese man arrived in Eastern Germany from Liberia for treatment five days ago after testing positive for the virus on October 6 2014.
The deceased is said to have been a doctor practicing in Liberia, a country most hit by the Ebola outbreak. In Liberia an estimate of 2,300 people have been killed.
He is the third person to be treated for Ebola in Germany.
The World Health Organization estimates the death toll resulting from the worst outbreak of Ebola on record to have exceeded 4,000. It has called the outbreak 'most severe acute health emergency in modern times'.
