Lawson seeks single digit interest rates for SMES
Towards attaining a robust economy in Nigeria that will aid development, the Federal and state governments have been urged to come to the aid of the owners of small and medium scale enterprises in reducing the myriad of challenges they have been facing in recent times.
Immediate past president of The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Alaba Lawson made the call while speaking with newsmen on the sideline of a thanksgiving service to draw the curtain on her reign as the first female president of NACCIMA.
At a service held at the St. Peter's Cathedral Church Ake, Abeokuta, members of NACCIMMA, Egba Christian Chiefs, Nigerian Union of Journalists among others gathered to thank God for an eventful year.
She urged government at all levels to enable small scale businesses to get loans at single digit interest rates. This she noted would enable them pay back in time and also boost the economy.
Lawson who also doubles as the Iyalode of Yoruba land also used the medium to set agenda for President Buhari's second term.
She urged him to partner with the private sector to ensure that there is significant economic growth.
Various groups gathered took turn to thank God with their dance and worship.
