Troops Neutralize Terrorist, arrest suspect
Joint Task Force North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA has sustained severe operations to decimate terrorists and bandits in Zamfara State and the environs.
The Troops maintained constant patrols and quick responses to attacks in Birnin Magaji, Kaura Namoda, Zurmi, Maru, and Shinkafi Local Government Areas between June 5 and 6, 2026.
The military narrated that on June 5, Sector 2 troops clashed with terrorists at Birnin Tsaba village in Birnin Magaji LGA. One terrorist was neutralized and seven motorcycles recovered.
On June 6, troops responded to an ambush on two civilian vehicles along the Kaura Namoda–Zurmi Road between Jabanda and Dauran villages. They secured the area, evacuated the injured for treatment, and have been tracking the attackers for possible rescue of abducted passengers.
Also on June 6, troops intervened at Anguwar Sarkin Musulmi village in Kaura Namoda LGA after a terrorist attack. The attackers fled into the bush before being caught. Early findings show they had already stolen residents’ personal belongings, which points to growing desperation as military operations cut off their supplies and logistics.
Sector 2 Troops on patrol to Tudun Wada and Dan Gulbi in Maru LGA, arrested eight suspected bandits at Tudun Wada on June 6. Recovered items included seven motorcycles, communication equipment, mobile phones, power banks, military-style uniforms, and other gear. A structure used by the suspects was destroyed.
On June 5, troops in Shinkafi LGA arrested suspected recipient of recently intercepted ammunition at Tupa village after intelligence work. The suspect is in custody and helping with investigations. Operation FANSAN YAMMA says it will keep up offensive operations and is asking the public to keep sharing timely, credible information with security agencies.
