Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has anointed Senator Aliyu Wadada as his successor in 2027.

Sule, at a meeting with political appointees at the Nasarawa State Government House, revealed his adoption of Wadada as APC governorship candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Nasarawa State.

Wadada, represents Nasarawa West Senatorial District in the National Assembly. He defected from the SDP to the APC for the governorship race in Nasarawa.
