Benue Govt Secures 160 Buildings To Reduce Housing Deficit

Benue State government has secured about 160 units of housing for civil servants, public servants and other residents, to reduce the rising cost of house rents and address housing deficit in the state.

The 160 units of housing was built by the federal government on a mortgage plan, but within the context of federal/state governments partnership to provide affordable housing for residents of Benue State.

Officials of Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development handed over the documents of the housing units to the Benue State government. The project is managed by Benue Investment Property Company, which ensures the vital documents are properly signed and delivered to the Benue State acting Head of Service. Dr Eunice OGENYI, at Government House, Makurdi.
The Benue State Government responding to the rising cost of house rent in Makurdi metropolis, took advantage of the federal government intervention initiative to secure the housing for civil servants in the state at affordable cost.
