Appeal Court Judgement Boldens Wike's Camp
The judgment of the Court of Appeal which upheld the Federal High Court judgement in nullifying the National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of November 15 and 16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State, has subtly boldened and energized the political camp of Nyesom Wike in the battle for the soul of the PDP.
Apparently, the National caretaker committee of the people Democratic Party has declared that they will soon go back to the PDP national secretariat to resume duties after long wait, arising from the sealing of the headquarters by the FCT police.
Secretary of the committee, Samuel Anyanwu, in a media interaction after the committee’s meeting in Abuja, said that the Appeal Court, on Monday, gave a mandate for the committee to work and continue the defence of the party. He maintained that they will take over the secretariat when they get the certified true copy of the court’s decision.
He said the move became necessary, especially, now that they are preparing for their national convention later this month.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee, Abdulrahman Mohammed, also decalred that the party has become stronger after Monday's judgement.
Mohammed called on their members to continue to work together, day and night, towards the conduct of their national convention.
He also sought consent of the EXCO to continue to enlighten their members and supporters to understand the judgment delivered by the appeal court.
The chairman cautioned them to be mindful of propagandists, speculations on social media by enemies of the party, to discredit the pronouncement of the appeal court. He insisted on putting the right information out there for the members, in order not to be misled.
