AGF,  NNPC GMD meet with Buhari

The group managing director of the Nigerian National petroleum corporation,  Alhaji Maikanti Baru says Nigeria’s crude oil production capacity currently hovers around one point two million barrels per day.


Addressing state House correspondents after a meeting with President Mohammadu Buhari at the presidential vill, Abuja, Tuesday, Baru said there is hope for improved crude oil production following ongoing repairs of pipelines destroyed in the wake of disturbances in the Niger Delta region. He lamented that the production level soared not too long but dropped due prolonged repairs on the damaged pipelines.

Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami who was also at the meeting, told journalists that he had briefed the President on several issues including the job done by the presidential electoral reforms Commitee

Malami noted that the President is worried about the slow pace of work on the proceed of crime bill before the National Assembly, saying the executive arm of government is looking forward to the expeditious passage of the proposed law which he said is critical to the ongoing fight against corruption in the country

The Attorney General declined to comment on whether or not the Presidential committee investigating the Suspended Secretary to the Government of federation, Babachir Lawal and Director General of the National Intelligence agency, Ayo Oke will make its report open to the public.

The committee headed by the vice president Yemi Osinbajo is expected to submit its report on Wednesday.‎
