Police Arrest 41 Kidnappers, Rescue Seven Victims In Kaduna
The Police have arrested 41 kidnappers and rescued 7 victims in Kaduna State.
The Kaduna State Police Command, between March and April 2026, made notable progress against kidnapping, armed robbery, and other violent crimes between March and April 2026. The Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, affirmed that 41 suspects were arrested and 7 kidnapped victims rescued during the period.
CP Muhammad, at a press briefing in Kaduna, credited intelligence policing and the commitment of officers for the Command’s operational successes.
The commissioner of Police said that recovered items include 24 firearms, 200 rounds of live ammunition, and 50 rustled cows. The key arrest was suspected gunrunner, Samaila Ilyasu, in Kagarko LGA, found with 20 locally made Dane guns.
Acting on credible intelligence, operatives in Makarfi LGA arrested suspected kidnappers Abdullahi Suleiman and Jibril Isyaku, who reportedly confessed. Police also nabbed alleged informants working with bandits: Ali Usman in Kachia LGA, Haruna Abubakar in Giwa LGA, and Yusufa Audu in Kauru LGA. Audu also admitted to supplying illicit drugs to criminals.
In Giwa and Zaria, Umar Yusuf and Jibril Lawal were arrested over alleged culpable homicide, with investigation ongoing.
Separately, police intercepted 200 rounds of live ammo hidden in a sack of guinea corn, arresting two suspects from Zamfara State, while other syndicate members remain at large
